"Congratulations to Josh Rozenfeld who was recently awarded the Teri Aronov Courageous Spirit Award at Beth Israel Hospital in New York. Since the age of 10, Josh Rozenfeld has helped raise funds and awareness of dystonia. Now 16, Josh is a frequent speaker at dystonia fundraising events in New Jersey and he also serves as a big brother-type mentor for many local children who are newly-diagnosed with dystonia. Josh's grandparents are active volunteers Lois and Norm Gebeloff."

Teri Aronov is an active member of our Support Group here in Alabama.  We are honored to recognize her contributions to Dystonia Research.

THE MIDGE KOVACS ANNUAL AWARD GIVEN TO OUR OWN LINDA MOTT
POSTED 05/12/07

Since 1999, the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association (NSDA) has been presenting its annual Midge Kovacs Awareness Award to recognize the outstanding awareness raising efforts of SD support groups.

This annual award by the NSDA honors the pioneering work of the late Midge Kovacs. Midge was a founding Board member of the NSDA. She started an SD Support Group in NY in 1987 and wrote a newsletter for patients and doctors. In a note to the NSDA community which was published in 2000, Midge Kovacs encouraged all of us who are struggling with SD to think beyond our own individual voice problems.

In early May, the NSDA presented this award to our Linda to recognize her outstanding efforts!  While she could not be there to accept the award in person (always working....), it is an incredible honor to be recognized for the efforts she has put into our Support Group and helping those of us affected by Spasmodic Dysphonia.

Congratulations, Linda!
